Studio Emmylou is rooted in intention—slow creation, ethical craftsmanship, and the belief that the objects we wear and carry should hold meaning. My work is an extension of my values: honoring the natural world, embracing the beauty of imperfection, and creating with a sense of connection—to history, to cycles, and to the people who will carry these pieces forward.
Sustainability & Conscious Craftsmanship
With a Master’s degree in Sustainability, I approach jewelry-making with an awareness of materials, production, and longevity. Each piece is made with respect for both the earth and the craft itself, using thoughtful, responsible processes that minimize waste and prioritize quality.
The bronze I use is fully recycled, sourced from reclaimed metal to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the integrity of traditional metalwork. My primary medium, metal clay, is an eco-conscious material made from fine metal particles, further ensuring that my work repurposes rather than extracts. By working with recycled metals, I embrace a philosophy of renewal—honoring what has already existed and transforming it into something enduring.
Small-Batch, Slow Creation
In a world of mass production, I choose to create differently. Each piece is sculpted by hand in small batches, allowing for a slower, more intentional approach to jewelry-making. Nothing is rushed or replicated in excess—every piece has a purpose, ensuring that no material is wasted, and no energy is spent unnecessarily.
I create from my home studio in New Jersey, just miles from the ocean, where the changing tides and shifting landscape serve as a constant reminder that everything moves in cycles. I allow my process to reflect this rhythm—working in alignment with nature, not against it.
Longevity & Heirloom Craftsmanship
Studio Emmylou pieces are not meant to be fleeting. They are made from solid metal—substantial, durable, and built to last. More than adornments, they are objects of permanence, meant to be worn, lived in, and passed down through generations. As bronze ages, it carries the imprint of time and touch, deepening its story alongside its wearer. And like all things, it holds the potential for renewal—polished anew, reshaped, reclaimed.
Inspired by the Natural & the Ancient
I draw inspiration from the raw beauty of nature and the relics of the past—artifacts that feel as though they’ve been unearthed, holding a history within them. My designs are textured, organic, and imperfect, reflecting the beauty found in natural erosion, weathered surfaces, and the passage of time. I want each piece to feel as though it has always existed—ready to be found, ready to be worn.
A Philosophy of Intention
Sustainability is not just about materials—it’s about mindset. To create slowly. To embrace imperfection. To honor cycles, both in art and in life. At Studio Emmylou, every piece is made with this philosophy in mind: thoughtfully crafted, deeply connected, and meant to endure.
